15 December 2018
In its 2nd year, the officers and staff of Overseas Filipino Bank (OFBank) again joined forces as they conducted a community outreach program for the poor street children in Manila, this time in coordination with Saint Vincent de Paul Parish, Ermita. For the season of giving, OFBank employees once again shared their blessings to some of the less fortunate kids in celebration of the Yuletide Season.
A fun-filled outreach activity with the theme “OFBank gives back, A Christmas Outreach Program”, was conducted on 15 December 2018. This was organized by the Bank’s Human Resources and was participated by officers and staff of OFBank. Senior Officers also participated in the event headed by the Bank’s President and CEO Renato G. Eje and some of the members of the Management Committee.
Before the event, the volunteers together with the kids attended first the mass at the Saint Vincent de Paul Parish. It was then followed by a short message from President Eje as he gives his Christmas greetings to the participants and echoing the sermon of the priest during the mass to the kids who participated in the event. OFBank employees shared the fun as they interacted with the children thru playing parlor games to enliven the occasion. A simple but delicious meal has been also shared to these kids during the event. More than 80 street children participated in the gathering who received also extra special treats in the form of groceries, school supplies, toys and simple gifts mostly sponsored by the employees of the Bank.
The event is part of the continuous effort of OFBank to fulfill its corporate social responsibility with the hope to at least touch the hearts of some of the less fortunate people in the community thru simple ways. The Bank plans to conduct different activities annually interacting with various groups in the community to fulfil its social mandate that would somehow impact the society.
